Clutch and Band Charts

Application charts quickly pinpoint the area of an automatic transmission causing a shifting problem. Through a process of elimination, find the faulty component using this handy tool.

The vehicle's transmission slipped and neutralized in second gear and seemed to have no overdrive. After a test drive, the technician retrieves the solenoid, clutch, and band charts to find which devices apply or hold in the gear or gears associated with the problem. Notice a slipping 2-4 band would undoubtedly result in this condition.
