Transmission Circuit and Wiring Problems
Transmission connectors and harnesses take a beating. They can become stretched from worn motor and transmission mounts. They can also get frayed and damaged from rubbing against other components and burned if too close to exhaust. This damage and wear create circuit problems like opens, shorts, and grounds.
These problems can be intermittent, meaning they occur one minute and are gone the next. These are reoccurring issues that can be difficult to diagnose. Inspect the wiring and wiring harness when a code or an electrical problem occurs in an electronic automatic transmission.
